Nursing Background
As a Registered Nurse Marg worked in Medicine, Coronary Care and Intensive Care Units. As a result of back injuries, she has taken office work and worked with pension and benefit matters. Marg has a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist Certificate and has taken numerous pension and benefit courses.
Marg maintains her professional designation of Registered Nurse, with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA). As a Registered Nurse, she is obligated to maintain responsibilities of professional Code of Conduct and Ethics.
Mediation
She has taken courses through and is a member of the IACP (International Academy of Collaborative Professionals) Introduction to Collaborative Practice. Her training in Alternate Dispute Resolution includes programs from the Department of Justice, numerous courses regarding specific components of Mediation and sessions regarding Understanding Dynamics of Domestic Violence.
Marg is currently an Associate member of the Collaborative Professionals of Saskatchewan and a Member of the Alternate Dispute Association (ADR Sask) and ADRIC (National). Through ADRIC, Marg is covered by insurance and must comply with a Code of Ethics and Responsibilities.
Marg’s life long goal has been to help others. To this end, she will continue to offer her assistance in resolving disputes through mediation or arbitration processes. She is also a certified Notary Public.
Child Consultant
Marg has completed the Meeting With Children Program, provided by the International Centre for Children and Family Law, an International Training Center. Marg can be involved in separation and divorce cases as a Child Consultant.
The Meeting With Children Program trains Mediators to meet with children of separating and divorced parents, and hear the views of the children.
Speaking with children utilizing specific activities and structured discussions will allow the voices of the child to be heard. The parents will be better able to approach and understand the perspectives of their children during the difficult periods of separation and divorce.
